The Northern Transvaal Centre was formed in 1978 to meet the needs of MG owners and enthusiasts in Pretoria and surrounding areas to the East, West and North in the then Transvaal Province of South Africa. In 2002 it was renamed Northern Centre.

The Centre's membership is about 120 of whom most reside in and around Pretoria and about 20 are "country" members. These include 6 Honorary Members and 6 Life Members. The Club's own Clubhouse was completed in 1991.

A general meeting of members (called a "Natter 'n Noggin") is held on the first Monday of each month (details below).

Every third Sunday of the month some form of event (social or competitive) is organised which usually takes the form of runs to places of interest, driving tests, treasure hunts, etc but might also include concours competitions and even longer, week-end away runs.
